斗六繪本圖書館

　　When I first started to find my internship, I decided to find the one that had opportunity to interact with children. And my senior recommended me that I could intern at the Douliu picture book library. I just accepted his recommendation because when I was sophomore, our professor just asked us to telling stories at the picture book library. I had a great impression on its cozy and heart-warming environment and looked forward to interning at the picture book library. And I really appreciated the supervisor giving me the opportunity　of interning at the Douliu picture book.

　　一開始找實習單位的時候，就想找能與小朋友有接觸的實習工作，於是學長向我推薦了斗六市立繪本圖書館。我接受了學長的建議，因為在大二的時候，教授給我們一項作業，要求我們到繪本館說故事，我對繪本館舒適、溫馨的環境有著很深刻的印象，也很期待能夠在繪本館實習。而我也很感謝館長給了我在斗六繪本館實習的機會。

　　At first, I thought my internship was telling the story and doing some trivial things. But, the actual internship I did was quite different. During my internship, I learned many different things that I could not learn from the book.

 　　一開始，我以為所要做的實習工作是講故事及幫繪本館做一些瑣碎的事，但是實際上所做的實習工作與我預先想的很不一樣。而從這些實習工作中，我學到了許多課本上無法學習到的東西。

 　　When I interned at the picture book library, I took part in many different activities. The first activity was helped decorating the washi exhibition. Through this exhibition, I saw many delicate and attractive creations and knew more information about washi. Washi is a paper that made by Japan. And the reason why washi is expensive just because its low quantity and high quality. It could be used for many years.

 　　在繪本館的實習中，我參與了非常多的活動。而第一個參與的活動則是為「日本當代工藝美術作品展」進行場地的佈置。在這次的展覽中，我看到了許多不僅精緻更是引人注目的作品，也透過了這次的展覽，讓我對和紙有了更深的了解。和紙是日本所生產的紙，和紙之所以價格昂貴是因為它的低產量和高品質。而和紙的使用壽命也很長。

 　　My second work is collecting the list of other country’s picture books. At the beginning, I had no idea what should I do and felt confused. After discussing with the supervisor, I just realized and started doing it. I started finding the list of different prizes and awards from other countries, such as The New York Times Best Seller List, Caldecott Medal, Hans Christian Andersen Award, and so on. I seldom read other country’s picture books, so through this work, I knew more picture books and authors from other countries. Norman Bridwell was the most impressive author I thought after collecting the list of picture books because his Clifford the Big Red Dog series of picture books were interesting and attractive.

 　　實習中的第二個工作則是蒐集有關其他國家的繪本清單，一開始當館長跟我說需要蒐集各國繪本清單的時候，我覺得很困惑，也完全不知道該從哪邊開始著手，但是透過與館長的討論，讓我知道館長所需要的資料，也開始著手進行。我找了許多各國繪本的得獎資料，像是紐約時報暢銷書排行榜、美國凱迪克獎和國際安徒生繪本大獎等等。因為我對國外繪本比較少涉略，所以透過了這項功過，我對於國外的繪本及繪本作者有了更深的認識。Norman Bridwell是在做這項蒐集資料的工作時，令我印象最深刻的作家，他有一系列關於Clifford這隻小狗的作品，作品不但很有趣，故事內容也很吸引人。

　　After finishing the collecting list of picture books, Douliu picture book library held a series of activity to response the World Book Day, such as producing handmade bookmark, handmade picture book and handmade hydrangea. And through these series of activity, handmade picture book is the most interesting and impressive that I felt. First, I should cut the paper in proper size, fold up the paper and tape it in the designate position. It was quite hard because I should do it carefully or my handmade picture book will become unsymmetrical. After taping it, I should start editing my picture book and creating my own story. Each of us asked to help two children making their own products.　

　　完成了繪本蒐集的工作後，斗六繪本館舉辦了一系列為了響應世界書香日的活動，活動包含了手作書籤、手作繪本和手作繡球花。在所有響應世界書香日的活動中，我覺得最有趣，印象也最深刻的活動就是手作繪本。首先，我必須把紙裁成適當的大小，並把它摺起來黏貼在指定的位置上。這幾個動作有些許難度，因為需要很小心地完成以上的動作才能讓繪本的型對稱整齊。再完成了以上的動作後，就開始編輯創造屬於自己的繪本故事。而在這一系列的活動中，每位實習生都被分配到兩位小朋友，並協助他們完成作品。

　　Through these series of activity, I had many opportunities to get alone with children. I thought getting alone with children was not only a challenge but also a good training for patience. When they made their own products, they might feel tired and asked me to help them finish it. So I should persuade and encourage them to keep doing their own work. I should also use some skills to communicate with them. After few weeks of cooperation, we built a good relationship and had many pleasant memories.

　　透過了這一系列的活動，我有了許多與小朋友相處的機會。我覺得與小朋友相處不僅僅是一個挑戰，也是一個培養耐心的訓練。當小朋友在做作品時，難免會覺得失去耐心並且請我幫忙完成後續工作。這時，我必須說服、鼓勵他們繼續完成未完成的工作。在與他們溝通時，也需要用一些技巧讓他們認同我所說的話。經過六個禮拜的合作，小朋友與我愈來愈有默契，也創造了許多美好的回憶。

　　The supervisor also asked us to tell stories after the children finished their own works. And I read the book Dose a Kangaroo Has a Mother, Too? for the children. When I stood on the stage, I felt a little bit nervous. After interacting with them, I felt relaxed. Through telling the story, I could teach them some simple vocabularies of animal. To me, it was an unforgettable and meaningful experience.

　　而在小朋友完成了他們的作品後，館長希望我們用剩餘的時間講故事。Dose a Kangaroo Has a Mother, Too?是我所選的第一本故事書。當我站在台上時，我覺得有點緊張。但是在講故事的過程中，經過與小朋友間的互動，也讓我漸漸地舒緩了緊張的情緒。我也透過了故事書裡的內容，教小朋友認識一些簡單的動物單字。對我而言，這是一個難忘且有意義的經驗。

　　The last work was recording picture books and made them into videos. When I recorded these picture books, I read each sentences at least 3 times to check my pronunciation and intonation were correct or not. Because I hoped that when the children listened my reading, they could improve their listening and have the correct pronunciation of each word.

　　我的最後一項工作就是錄製繪本並做成影片。當我在進行錄音工作時，每個句子都唸了至少三次，以便確認自己的發音和語調是不是最正確的。因為我希望當小朋友在聽我說故事時，他們能增進自己的聽力並且對於每個單字都能有最正確地發音。

　　After interning at the Douliu picture book library, I just won a good harvest. I felt thankful to the supervisor for helping me a lot. Through the internship, I learned some skills of communicating with children. And I also saw some characteristics of children that I should learned from them, such as imaginative and confident. I found some drawbacks of myself through the internship. In the future, I would impair my disadvantage and improve my advantage. Try my best to do everything.

在斗六繪本館實習期間，我得到很多收穫。很感謝館長幫助了我成長。透過了這次的實習，我學到了如何與小朋友溝通的技巧，而小朋友的想像力和自信是我需要向小朋友們所學習的。透過了這次實習，我也發現了一些自己需要改進的缺點。在未來，我會減少自己的缺點，增加自己的優點，盡全力完成每件事。
